India’s push on the penultimate day of the Paris 2024 Olympics will be led by wrestler Reetika Hooda on Saturday.
Should Reetika Hooda not advance to the semifinals on Saturday, India’s Olympic journey in Paris 2024 may end. India has won six medals in France thus far, including one silver and five bronze.

The sixth and last wrestler for India, Reetika, will start her round of 16 campaign in the women’s 76kg freestyle division, where she has a challenging path to the podium.In her first round match, the 22-year-old Indian will compete against Hungary’s Bernadett Nagy, a two-time European Championship bronze medallist.
The action starts at 2:30 PM IST and will be the fourth match on Mat B. Should Reetika advance to the quarterfinals, she might face Aiperi Medet Kyzy, the top-seeded player from Kyrgyzstan.
Two-time Asian champion Aiperi Medet Kyzy took home a silver medal in this event from the World Championships in 2023. Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar, two golfers who struggled on Friday, will play in today’s final round of the women’s competition.
Aditi Ashok, who came up just short of a medal in Tokyo 2020, slipped 26 positions to finish in T40 in the third round. Meanwhile, Diksha descended the order even further to T42. The fourth round will feature Indian women golfers starting at 12:PM IST.
